TitleClark, Wilson, Hughes, Broomhead, Bower, Baggalley and Bunting family papers
Date(late 18th cent)-1977
DescriptionThe Bower family of Whittington and Norton and the Baggalley family of Dronfield were linked by the marriage in 1814 of John Baggaley to Martha Bower. Samuel Baggalley of Dronfield was a butcher and also built eight houses in Coal Aston. A meat-sales account book perhaps used by him has later entries signed by 'D Bunting', probably a relative who inherited his property, and probably the Dorothy Bunting of Matlock who owned nos 124-133 Sheffield Road, Dronfield in 1912. The Sheffield Road houses subsequently came into the possession of Mr A H Bunting, an architect who later moved to Sutton Coldfield. A H Bunting married one of the Hodgkiss sisters and died in 1957. Mrs Bunting died in 1962, leaving the properties to her sisters A Gladys Hodgkiss and Mabel Hodgkiss.

It is assumed that the items in this series linked with the Clark, Wilson, Hughes and Broomhead families have some connection with the Bower and Baggalley families although no explicit link is made.
