Administrative HistoryThe Primitive Methodist Circuit for Winster is believed to have been formed in the years around 1811. It became Bakewell Primitive Methodist circuit in 1913 and was amalgamated with the North Derbyshire Mission Circuit to become the Peak Methodist Circuit in 1944. Other records of the circuit and its chapels are to be found under reference D1634.

In 1915 the circuit consisted of societies at Bakewell, Youlgreave, Birchover, Elton, Middleton, Darley Hillside, Aldwark, Biggin, Rowsley and Alsop. By 1944 there was no society at Alsop.
