Grant by Francis Leek of Sutton Scarsdale knight in consideration of the marriage arranged between them, to Simon Leek his bastard son by Maud Dawbeney widow and Elizabeth daughter of Oliver More of Birley [near Beighton] husbandman, of all the messuages, lands etc in Glapwell and Palterton which lie had from William Clark of Chesterfield for the term of their joint lives and the survivor, paying a red rose annually to Francis Leek and his heirs 1 Feb 6 Edward VI
