Combs County Primary School
Date
1903-1969
Description
This school opened in 1881. It was originally a Wesleyan school but became a Council school in 1903. In 1907, an agreement between the trustees of the Combs Wesleyan Chapel and the County Council allowed the use of the chapel as a public elementary school. In 1936, there was a reorganisation, by which the school catered for juniors and infants, with senior children going to Chapel-en-le-Frith.
These records were transferred to the Record Office in April 1976.
