Archive Creator	Wirksworth Cottage Hospital
Administrative History	The Cottage Hospital at Wirksworth was founded in 1867 by Georgiana Hurt. It later became a maternity hospital, managed (from 1947) by the NHS Derby No.2 Hospital Management Committee.
Custodial History	Unless otherwise stated, these records were deposited in Derbyshire Record Office in April 1976 by the Secretary of St Oswald's Hospital, Ashbourne. D1633/12/1 was donated to Derbyshire Record Office in January 2020 by the former owner of one of the properties that the building was later divided into.
