Custodial HistoryThese records were deposited at Derbyshire Record Office by Chesterfield Borough Council at various dates fom 1975. The civil defence records accessioned in August 2016 were received from Chesterfield Library: Local Studies. The original Corporation record books 1646-1836 were transferred to Derbyshire Record Office in October 2016 by Chesterfield Museum, to which they were donated on behalf of a private individual whose ancestor was a former Clerk of the Borough and had collected a large of quantity of archival material for the area.
