DescriptionParody of a popular song of the 19th century, "Do ye ken John Peel with his coat so gay?", with satirical references to figures such as "Mosley" (possibly Lt. Col Godfrey Mosley) and "Langton Coke" (possibly William Langton Coke, c.1843-1913, of Brookhill Hall, Alfreton). The 1st Derby Militia existed between 1855 and 1881.
