Title | Joseph Hill, Gt Queen St to Mr Mander, Bakewell - ‘I have received your letter with Mr Smedley’s account as far as it goes but I see no mention of any sums paid by him or the balance due from him - it is an account for 5 quarters only without reference to books and ledgers - the Duke of Beaufort has ordered these accounts to be strictly inquired into and maps made of the estates - until the mines are put on a proper footing His Grace desires that the Stanton bill may not be brought into the House’. 17 Feb |
