Title
Agreement between John Manners, Earl of Rutland and Gabriell Waine of Newbold, William Sawyer of Newbold, William Calowe of Wingerworth, Thomas Smyth of Hadley, John Smith of Handley and George Blackwall of Whittington - the Earl grants Waine et al licence for 7 years to search for lead ore within the manor of Whitwell, provided that it is not to the prejudice of the King’s house or in any orchard or garden - when they find any lead, to have 80 yards in length and 40 yards in breadth - to pay every 8th dish of ore to the Earl. 22 Aug
