Archive CreatorPresbyterian National Church: Wirksworth Classis
Administrative HistoryIn 1646 the rule of the Church of England by bishops (Episcopacy) was abolished and a Presbyterian National Church created. In the 1650s groups of ministers were formed into "classical" assemblies such as the Wirksworth Classis.
Custodial HistoryThe volume was found in the Hurst collection of printed books in October 1961. In 1880, it was in the possession of Philip Hurt, Esq., who had inherited it from his uncle, Charles Hurt.
