Administrative HistoryLocal boards of health were first set up in 1848 to administer services which related to public health in populated areas not covered by borough councils. By Local Government Board Order No 39,199 of 1 April 1899 the parish of Codnor and Loscoe was attached to the Heanor Urban District.
