| Administrative History | Mackworth is one of the ancient parishes in the county, comprising the townships of Mackworth and Markeaton. The hamlets of Bowbridge and Wheat Hill were included within the parish.
Following a major fire in December 2020, many records, including registers of baptisms from August 1953, marriages from September 2016, burials from Feb 1919, confirmations from 1972, services from Jan 1980 and various other items were destroyed. The fire was the last in a spat of arson attacks in the Derby area between October and December 2020. |
