Biography
Cuffy was an enslaved African on the Turners Hall sugar plantation in Barbados, who first appears in the records on 31 December 1759 as a child. He was the son of Sicceah. In 1771, two Cuffys are recorded, one a mule keeper and the other a cattle keeper. It is likely that Sicceah's Cuffy is one of these.
Cuffy is an African name that would traditionally be given to a boy born on a Friday.
