DescriptionThis map is described in the Derbyshire Record Society's "A Catalogue of Local Maps of Derbyshire c.1528–1800" (compiled by Harold Nichols, revised by Mary Wiltshire assisted by Susan Woore, published 2012). The description reads as follows:

A map of the manor of Litton. The several allotments as particularly described in the award hereto annexed. [1764]. Surveyor:(J. Beighton Jnr.). Scale: of 40 chains [l:9500]. Size: 53 x 58 cm. Materials: coloured ink on vellum. Centred on: SK165752 Notes: compass indicator. Inclosure award plan, 1127 acres, showing named old closes and new allotments with reference number and area, named roads and footpaths: 3 mine rakes with shafts(?) noted: village houses in block plan: Tideswell Dale, Millers Dale and Ravensdale Cliffs denoted by hachure style marking: explanation lists proprietors, allotment numbers, total acreage of an owner: plan signed by six commissioners, including J.
