DescriptionThis map is described in the Derbyshire Record Society's "A Catalogue of Local Maps of Derbyshire c.1528–1800" (compiled by Harold Nichols, revised by Mary Wiltshire assisted by Susan Woore, published 2012). The description reads as follows:

A map of the Manor of Littleover in the County of Derby shewing the several ancient enclosures and allotments referring to the award hereunto annex'd. Survd. in 1768. J. Beighton delint. Surveyor: J.Beighton.Scale: of 20 chains [1:4800]. Size: 72 x 91 cm. Materials: ink on parchment, roads coloured yellow. Centred on: SK3234 Notes: compass rose, top of sheet NNW. Plan attached to enclosure award, 1200 acres of enclosures and allotments with reference numbers in two sequences: 1 field name 'Cross Close': shows adjoining liberties, roads, paths, buildings in block plan: Award names commissioners, George Ingman, Wilford (Notts); John Beighton the younger late of Radbourne but now of Haylewood (Derbys), Thomas Harpur of Etwall. Title in diamond shaped cartouche. Location: DRO, Q/RI 65; copies in DRO, D769/12/17/4, Scale: 25 chains to 4½". Size: 98 x 80 cm. Materials: ink on blue linen paper.
