Description	consists of:- Notice of application and petitions for licence, Thomas Williamson of Fernilee millwright, manufacturer of gunpowder, to erect gunpowder mills on lands (Geldee Warth, Mill Warth and the Warth on the other side the Water) at Shallcross he has contracted to lease from Francis Jodrell esq. Cites that it would be beneficial for coal and other mines as carriage of gunpowder is expensive, 1800. Granted 1801 Petition for licence, John Wright and William Jessop partners trading as The Butterley Company, to keep a magazine for storing unlimited quality of gunpowder on premises of Joseph Mather, a Company agent at Amber Wharf near Bull Bridge, Crich, April 1827 Notice from Robert Mellor agent for Charles Hitchenor of Stobbs Mill, Temple, Lothian, manufacturer of gunpowder, that Hitchenor intends to apply for a licence to build a magazine to store unlimited quantities of gunpowder on part of enclosure allotment no 106 at Alvaston, Apr 1827 Notice from Henry Orton that he intends to apply for a licence to build a magazine to store unlimited quantities of gunpowder on enclosure allotment on Sinfin Moor (details of bounds given) purchased by Orton from Francis Earl of Moria, Jun 1827 Notice from Joseph Humpsto? as agent for Charles Berwick Curtis, Thomas Curtis and William Gillmore Harvey of City of London, manufacturers of gunpowder, that they intend to apply for a licence to build a magazine to store unlimited quantities of gunpowder on part of enclosure allotment no 106 at Boulton, Dec 1834
