Half way through volume, Shaft No. 2 sinking started 24 July 1882, last recorded date 29 July 1882, many following pages undated. Columns for date (rarely used), description of strata, thickness of strata (in yards, feet and inches), depth from surface (in yards, feet and inches) and remarks. Final page has calculations as to quantity of water in No. 2 Shaft, made 7 Aug 1882.
