Description
Relating to land and mineral purchase agreements and leases from the Palmer Moorewood estate to the Butterley Company around the Greenhill Lane area at Riddings (mentioned as Alfreton) and in Swanwick to Butterley Park area: some correspondence is from Mr William H. Goodwin, agent at the Swanwick Collieries: mention is made of Britain Colliery. Plan showing proposed area of deep hard and soft coal to be leased from R.C.P Moorewood, workings of Britain Colliery annotated in red, 6 inches to 1 mile, 29cm x 30cm. Plan showing coals at Swanwick, March 1911, 6 inches to 1 mile, 37cm x 36cm. Plan of the seams worked in the area around Swanwick, Butterley Park and Riddings area, early 20th cent, 6 inches to 1 mile, 36cm x 37cm. Plan of the Alfreton Park Estate with annotated coal workings and seams, early 20th cent, 6 inches to 1 mile, 40cm x 44cm. Coloured and annotated plan showing proposed pillar to be left in Mr Moorewood's Furnace Coal at Britain Colliery to support the Brands shaft for ventilation purposes, Apr 1907, 2 chains to 1 inch, 32cm x 36cm.
