NotesA large historic limestone village and civil parish within the Peak District National Park, approximately six miles east of Buxton. The village developed as a medieval market town and was historically associated with lead mining. It is dominated by the impressive 14th-century Church of St John the Baptist, a Grade I listed building widely known as the 'Cathedral of the Peak'.
