Administrative HistoryArthur Clemson's business began in 1878 when he started making boxes to pack boots and shoes made in his grandfather's factory. The firm moved to the Kensington works, Forman, Street, Derby. During the 1960s the firm, along with the printing business of Thomas Harpur of Derby, was acquired by RB Macmillan Ltd. In 1981 the assets of both companies were purchased and the new firm of Clemson and Harpur Ltd was established.
