Administrative HistoryThe 16th century Langley Hall was rebuilt for Rev. Henry Peach in 1836, with some elements of the original house incorporated into its 19th century successor. The Hall was still in possession of the Peach family at the time of these plans.

Custodial HistoryThis item was donated by Derby Museums Trust in February 2020, details of their earlier provenance is unknown. It was re-accessioned in January 2021 and added to the T H Thorpe archive as it is likely that the item was inherited by the Trust as the former office of the firm became Pickford's House Museum.
