History
Darwin School was initially known as Breadsall County Secondary School and opened in April 1959 at Breadsall Hilltop. Reorganisation in the early 1970s converted Henry Cavendish School into a Senior High School (ages 13 to 18) with Darwin and Derwent becoming Junior High Schools (ages 11 to 16). Derwent closed in 1985. In 1989, Henry Cavendish and Darwin were amalgamated as High View Community Education Centre. The school buildings have since been demolished.
