History	Eckington United Methodist Free Church opened in 1876. In 1932 the Wesleyan United and Primitive Methodist Churches amalgamated to form the Methodist Church. It became Trinity Methodist Church, Eckington, in 1947 and High Street Methodist Church, Eckington in 1970. Following declining congregations, the Methodist church on High Street was sold in November 2005. Whilst improvements were made to the Mount Zion church, the congregations of both churches worshipped at the parish church of St Luke's. A similar arrangement continued until October 2005, when a Local Ecumenical Partnership was established. The Church of Eckington Methodist with St Lukes closed in 2021.
