History
The Shipley and Cotmanhay National School, located in Shipley, was opened in 1842. It underwent several enlargements, with departments for boys, girls and infants. The School came under the control of Derbyshire County Council in 1905. The infant department was closed in 1911, and the whole of the School was closed in 1932.
