The parish of Chesterfield Saints Augustine of Hippo and Canterbury became a parish in its own right in 1930. It was formed out of parts of the parishes of Chesterfield St Mary and All Saints and Brampton St Thomas. There was originally an iron church from about 1876 at Derby Lane. The church in Derby Road was dedicated to the Saints Augustine in 1888, and operated as a parochial district of Chesterfield St Mary and All Saints parish until 1930.The records were deposited in the Derbyshire Record Office in April 2000.
