Biography
Oliver Cromwell was born in Huntingdon on 25 April 1599. He was Member of Parliament for Huntingdon (1628-1629) and Cambridge (1640-1653). He fought as a Parliamentarian during the English Civil Wars and signed the death warrant of King Charles I. From 1653 until his death he ruled the country as the Lord Protector.
