| Biography | Prince Makonnen was the second son of Emperor Haile Selassie of Ethiopia and Empress Menen Asfaw. In 1930, when his parents were crowned Emperor and Empress, he was given the title Mesfin [Duke] of Harar. He married Sara Gizaw with whome he had six sons. He died in a car crash in 1957, at the age of 32. |
