History
CLIENTELE
Accommodation for up to 24 young people aged 10-18. 16 Derbyshire children had been admitted in 1986, and 18 in 1988. In March 1997 12 long term placements.
UNITS
Originally, there were no named units, with seven blocks including for staff, and one secure unit for 4 persons. By 1985, there are units described as M/U, B/U and Girls Unit. The secure unit was for some time at least known as the Trent Unit, and had two bedrooms. Other units include the 8-bed Wragley unit, Redwood and Derwent (the latter was no longer in use by September 1995. There was also a link bed reserved for when the child's Secure Order expires.
In 2015 the centre had maximum of 5 beds for children and 2 for staff

Sep 1977 Insufficient staff numbers for children in security
Feb 1978 Evidence of Leicestershire County Council contributing to staffing of secure unit
May 1980 Secure Unit opened
New Year 2016 old home due to be demolished and replaced by The Willows and another site on Sinfin Road, with 4 & 5 beds respectively
