History	The company was founded around 1894 by Sydney Watson (1870-1944), one of the sons of William Watson of Alfreton, also an auctioneer and estate agent. After Sydney Watson's death in 1944, the practice was bought by Major Bryan Elder. It gradually became known as the firm of Bryan Elder, later Elders Estates.
