| History | The business was founded in the early 1870s by Samuel Pickersgill (1828-1890) and John William Frost (1831-1893). The manufacture of stove grates and fireplaces was undertaken at the Star Foundry, Eagle Street, Derby with a showroom at Siddals Road, Derby. In 1895, under the management of John William Frost's sons, Albert Booker Frost (1864-1913) and John Arthur Frost (1869- 1961) the business moved to a foundry at Langley Mill, previously occuipied by the Langley Mill Steel and Iron Works Company. The business closed in 1969. |
