History
The Tinsley Park Colliery Company was registered in 1898 to take over the collieries worked by the Tinsley Coal Company. In 1926, the company became associated with the newly formed Rotherham and District Collieries Association.
In 1938, the company organised a loan to the Renishaw Iron Company, with the compromise that Tinsley would have operational control of that company, as well as supplying coke to them. In 1939, the company offered to reach a similar deal with J & G Wells for their collieries at Holbrook, Norwood and Westthorpe. The company was finally acquired and absorbed into United Steel in 1944.
