28 Apr 1992
Description
The footage is in five segments:
(Duration: 5.46) Diana arrives and shakes hands with those assembled outside the centre to greet her. A wind band begins to play. Next scene: people using the centre are at work in a room. Diana enters and is greeted. She has a conversation with some of the people there.
(Duration: 5.53) Diana enters a larger room and is introduced to people who are using woodwork tools.
Diana takes her place in a row of seats. A woman emerges into the centre of the room and begins to perform Cinderella, from Roald Dahl's Revolting Rhymes, a poetical satire on well-known fairy tales.
(Duration: 5.54) This is followed by further performance including a dance piece performed to the tune of Thriller by Michael Jackson.
(Duration: 5.43) Ballroom dancing, as several couples perform in the same larger room. The performance over, Diana stands up and circulates the room meeting people and talking with them.
(Duration: 5.31) Crowds are gathered behind a barrier outside the Whitemoor Centre holding flags. They cheer as the princess emerges and greets some well-wishers before getting back into her car.
