| Administrative History | The aims of the Youth Service have been to offer leisure opportunities and assistance in transition from school to adult life, often in co-operation and partnership with other organisations.
In 1954, there were 27 Local Youth Committees operating in the county: Alfreton, ashbourne, Bakewell, Beighton, Belper, Bolsover, Buxton, Chapel-en-le-Frith, Chesterfield, Clay Cross, Clowne, Eckington, Frecheville, Glossop, Heanor, Heath area, Hope Valley, Ilkeston, Killamarsh, Long Eaton, Matlock, New Mills, Ripley, Shirebrook, Staveley, Swadlincote and Wirksworth. |
