Description	Having found a letter from his late wife to her father Sir John Franklin dated 7 May 1849, which was sent back to England undelivered; he quotes passage on being in her own room with the portrait Phillips hanging over the mantelpiece, as well as small bronze (now in Gell's possession); he fails to see how it could have been bought between 1849 and 1853 and withdrawn from probate in 1855
