| Title | Cutting on diary entry for meeting between Farington and architect William Porden at Eaton Hall in Cheshire, from the Morning Post, 2 Apr 1923, with accompanying note by Philip Lyttelton Gell |
| Date | 1923 |
| Description | The note, signed by P.L.G., identifies the writer as Farington; the entry is dated 21 Sep, 5 and a half years after Eaton began to be built [1809]. The note also says that they [the Gells] used to possess the drawings and designs for Eaton, and are probably contained in his portfolios at Hopton. Farington is probably Joseph Farington, painter and published diarist. |
