I am glad that he has been undeceived with respect to the connexions of Capt Maconochie with an opposition newspaper a copy of the correspondence alluded to in Sir John Franklin’s letter has been in England about a month and has been circulated among most of Captain Maconochie’s acquaintances. I am dear Sir, faithfully yours, John Washington Ullswater, Cumberland 24th August 1830
