Description | Recording summary of information on Franklin's expedition of 1845, and the three search expeditions sent out in 1848; a ship, the Plover, under the command of Captain Moore, travelling from the east via Behring Straits; a boat under Sir John Richardson, exploring coast between Mackenzie and Coppermine rivers; and two ships, the Enterpise and Investigator, under Sir James Ross and Captain Bird, via Lancaster Sound; the North Star storeship is to be dispatched to Davis Straits to communicate with Sir James Ross. Postcript added that Sir James had returned since note was written. |
