Administrative HistoryThe son of David and Mary Ann, Solomon Page (1870-1940) was born in Dodworth, Yorkshire where he had previously worked as coal miner (ref: 1891 census). He married Francis Fanny Cooper in 1889, and their first child, William, was born the following year, but did not survive infancy. By 1911, they had had nine children, five of whom had passed away.

During the period covered by these records Solomon worked from premises in Norfolk Street.
Custodial HistoryThese records were donated to the Museum of Science and Industry (MOSI) by a member of the public. MOSI forwarded them to Manchester Archives who in turn sent them to Glossop Library in August 2006. They were re-discovered and transferred to Derbyshire Record Office in July 2022.
