Administrative History | Alfreton Townswomens Guild was formed on 24 May 1937, with 76 members subscribing 2s. Due to falling membership, partly with wider societal changes offering women more education and social opportunities than had previously been the case, the Guild closed in February 1999, although many of the members continued to meet at the British Legion Hall, Alfreton.
In 1971, 31 local Guild's were affiliated to the Derbyshire Federation of Townwomen's Guilds. |
