Administrative History | Robert Franklyn Redhouse was born in London in 1872. With his wife Emily (nee Badsey, married 1901), he had at least one child, Kenneth, born 1916. At the time of the 1911 census Robert is employed as a Waterworks Inspector by the Manchester Corporation and similarly in 1939 as an Inspector on Waterworks Construction, now living in Easington, County Durham. Kenneth is described as a Bricklayer (Reservoir Repairs). Both Robert and Kenneth had been employed in Derbyshire during the construction of the Fernilee Reservoir. Kenneth married Kathleen Shaw in 1945 in the Chapel-en-le-Frith district, although seems to have moved to Lancashire by 1949 where both his children were born, and where both his parents passed away. |
Custodial History | These items were donated to Derbyshire Record Office, via Macclesfield Museum, in 2019 and accessioned in July 2021.
