Title
Principal deed of a seam of coal known as the Tupton seam lying under land at Newthorpe 31a. 1r. 9p., lease by Governors of the Scargill’s School foundation to the Digby colliery Company for 30 years: the Piper seam under the same land added: fixed minimum annual rent of £45 for all marketable coal in the Tupton seam worked, also £25 per annum until all the coals in the Piper Seam worked: in addition an acreage rent of £55 per acre to be paid in respect of the Tupton Seam and an acreage rent of £35 (for every acre less than 3ft in thickness) or £45 (for every acre of more than 3ft in thickness) in respect of the Piper Seam. 31 Dec
