Administrative HistoryMrs Susan Ward lived at the Old Vicarage, Wormhill, with her husband. The couple became friendly with Mrs Rogers who then lived at Holly House. Mrs Rogers had a detailed knowledge of Wormhill and lived there for her entire life and was, for about 50 years, its parish clerk and taught in local schools. Mrs Rogers was born in Chee Tor Cottage, Wormhill, her father was gamekeeper at Wormhill Hall. Mrs Rogers died at the age of 88 in 1990. Mrs Ward also died in 1990; both are buried in Wormhill churchyard. The interview was conducted when Mrs Rogers was resident in Hargate Hall residential home, Wormhill.
