Description
Whereby in consideration of a dowry of £50, Seagrave and Hodgkinson convey to Robert Seagrave of Thorpe Satschville (Leics)., clerk, and Thurston Lowe of Whittington, gentleman, 2 closes of meadow or pasture in Broughton Astley (Leics). (8a), called the Skinsmore Closes (bounds recited), in the tenure of Robert Trentham, with a messuage at Ashover in the tenure of Christopher Shepperd, a close (2a), known as the Pingle att Marsh, and a parcel of land (1a), called the Hillocks or Little Hillocks, upon trust as follows:-
The Closes at Broughton Astley, to the use of Seagrave until the marriage and then to the use of Hodgkinson and Sarah for their lives with remainder to the heirs of their bodies.
The house and lands at Ashover, to the use of Hodgkinson until the marriage and then as above.
Hodgkinson further conveys to Seagrave and Lowe all his share in the mines of lead ore that are or shall be found beneath the Pingle att Marsh and Hillocks and also beneath the Great Incroft and Little Incroft, in trust to permit Hodgkinson to receive the lead ore and profits for his life and then to permit Sarah to do likewise with remainder to the issue of their bodies. Proviso that if Seagrave pays £100 then the settlement of the land at Broughton Astley is to become void and the money to be laid out in the purchase of lands in trust as above.
