Lease (and copy) by John Gresley and others (trustees of Sir Thomas Rich's Charity) to John Stanley of Stretton en le Field, servant (a descendent of John Stanley of Overseal, deceased), reciting a feoffment by John Stanley to the trustees, in consideration of £200, of a messuage and lands at Overseal in trust for the poor of Netherseal, whereupon the trustees agreed to lease certain lands to him at £10 12s pa, of a messuage and closes known as the Croft (6a), Harry Hedges (4a), Broomy Lane (31/2a), Church Way (1a) and Short Heath Close (71/2a), for the lives of himself, of Joseph Vinrace, son of William Vinrace of Ashby de la Zouch, mason and his brother William Stanley of Netherseal, tailor of £10 12s pa 4 Jun 1771
