A copy of what appears to be Doug Nash's first letter to Nellie Kirkham, dated 4 May 1949, in which he explains that she had been described to him as an authority on Derbyshire lead mines, and introduces to her his plans for research and exploration into some of them. Kirkham's reply, dated 6 May 1949, suggesting they might meet so that she could offer advice. |
