'Buxton's Present from the Past': Oral History Archive
Administrative HistoryAt the time of the interview Barbara Wilson had lived in Buxton for approximately 21 years. Barbara and her father were born in Canada, her family having moved there from Buxton. Her grandmother, Mary Lomas, had moved to Buxton from Monyash as a child about 1907.

Barbara's involvement with the Buxton Fringe Festival began around 1995 and she worked as both the secretary and treasurer of the Fringe committee. During the period in which The Crescent was in receipt of funds from the Heritage Lottery, Barbara was a County Councillor. She has also been a councillor for High Peak Borough Council, and helped to run the Nighstop and Buxton food bank.
