'Buxton's Present from the Past': Oral History Archive
Administrative HistoryJohn Wilson was born in Buxton, was raised in Great Longstone and has been living in Buxton since 1994. As builder John was involved in restoring several listed buildings in the Peak District and as a High Peak Borough councillor he chaired the Development Control Committee. With Richard Tuffey (High Peak Borough Council Conservation Officer), John led guided tours of The Crescent, later running these solo to raise funds for the Buxton Fringe Festival.
