TitleMary Harrison, Sheffield, to her daughter Mary Brocksopp, Cheltenham
Date26 Dec 1834
DescriptionI am sorry to trouble you again about debts contracted by Mr Harrison when in Change Alley, but matters are at such a crisis that I must beg you to say if you will assist me; I asked Mr Drabble if I could have some of the money left me by your brother; Mr H's creditors want their money urgently an done has taken legal action; I hope you will not refuse to advance me £35 and I will pledge never to ask for another farthing; Mr Harrison's inebriety and his frequent fits reduce him to a state of unfitness for business; I have no doubt Mr Barnes advises you to treat my cause with silent contempt.
