Lease for possession by William Ragge, son and heir of William Ragge of Stretton Hall, yeoman, deceased, to John Ragge of Chesterfield, tallow chandler (his brother), of a messuage with shop and cellar adjoining Knifesmith Gate, Chesterfield, and the south end of a seat in Chesterfield Church, lately purchased of Edward Dodson, deceased, by Thomas Smith of Staveley Netherthorpe, now deceased, which seat was erected by Dodson and Robert Clay. 26 September in the tenth year in the reign of George I.
