Title
Assignment of lease by John Ragg of Chesterfield, flax monger, Francis Stone of Wirksworth, Marey Stones of Ashgate and Roger Ragg of Brampton, to Edmund Barnes of Corse Hill, parish Brampton, husbandman, of a messuage etc. near Ashgate, with fields known as Cow Close Knowle, Upper Bloome Smythies, Long Close and Broad Bage Close (31 acres), for 16 years at £16 5s per annum payable to Squire Offaley of Norton; with agreement to allow Barnes £2 10s in coals on 2 September next and to pay £1 per annum for so long as the pits shall be working on the land, to compensate for damage; Barnes to pay the half year's rent that remains due.
